2012 Old North Home Grown Festival and House Tour – Saturday, May 19

Kicks off by Crown Candy – Old North St. Louis Restoration Group, 2700 North 14^th Street
Shifts:  10AM – 1PM, 1PM – 4PM
Old North St. Louis Restoration Group is seeking volunteers to help with registration and to serve as docents at their neighborhood-wide house and community tour that features the Old North St. Louis community, the richness and character of the architecture, the beauty of the gardens, and green spaces, and the dynamic revitalization in progress. The event will show a dozen homes and 3 community gardens.  The money raised will support efforts by the Old North St. Louis Restoration Group.  The event also features music, craft vendors, and an outdoor festival.  Refreshments will be provided to all volunteers (including lunch for those working between 11:30 and 12:30 p.m.) and all volunteers are invited to the after-tour appreciation party (tentatively scheduled for 5 p.m.). There will be free beer available for volunteers at the after-tour-party. Benton Park 5K Run – Saturday, May 19

Benton Park Neighborhood Association is seeking volunteers to serve as course monitors at their 5 K run.  Volunteers who sign up are invited to attend a volunteer party on May 9^th at 6pm @O’Malley’s Irish Pub located at corner of Lemp & Cherokee Street for free eats, cash bar.  Benton Park is a neighborhood that is on the rebound.  They could use your help!  To volunteer, contact Amanda Henry at volunteer@fuelforthecity.org.

Saint Louis Art Museum Outdoor Film Series – Friday, July 13
Forest Park – Art Hill

Shift:  6:30 to 9:30 pm
The Saint Louis Art Museum is seeking volunteers to serve as ushers at this free outdoor film series at Art Hill in Forest Park.  The event features live music and food from area vendors and a cinema classic under the stars on Art Hill at 9 PM.  Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to stay for the films when their shift is over.  Volunteers will be given a film series t-shirt to wear, as well as, water, soft drinks, and popcorn. Additional food items will be for sale from food trucks onsite. In case of inclement weather, the film series will be cancelled.   To volunteer, contact Amanda Henry at volunteer@fuelforthecity.org.

Fuel Happy Hour

Fuel is a social volunteer group of adults who support the City of St. Louis. We partner with City community and neighborhood groups to ensure their projects are successful by supplying volunteers’ for 1-2 day projects, events, and fundraisers. We work a variety of events and we ask our members to sign up for at least two volunteer shifts per year. We also sponsor social events for our members. Info: Join us for a special Valentine’s Happy Hour at La Gras!  Bringing a loved one is not required since we’re all about showing love to our fair City!!   Since the February volunteer events take place before the monthly happy hour, this event will be a casual mingle.  Drink Specials all night: $2 Sangrias, $1.50 Domestic Beers for, $2.50 imports.  Appetizers will be provided along with music by Armen Ovchiyev (Music begins at  7:30 PM).  Bring your friends!

Daffodil Day at Carondelet Park Boathouse

Info: Holly Hills Neighborhood Association is seeking volunteers to help plant 8000 daffodils in Carondelet Park!  Many hands make light work!  They will have shovels, but feel free to bring your own shovel, gloves etc.  This is a last minute event so plan to show up at the Carondelet Park Boathouse if you are interested in volunteering. Tell them Fuel sent you! 

 Annual WALL BALL Fundraiser and Celebration

Date: Saturday, February 11
Where: Third Degree Glass Factory, 5200 Delmar Blvd, Saint Louis, MO 63108
Shifts are: Day Shift(s) (Light Set Up Duties): Choose a 3 hour block between 10 am and 7 pm
Night Shift Times: Choose a 3 hour block between 7 pm and midnight
Info: SCOSAG is seeking volunteers to work at the Wall Ball, an event that has been rated #1 fundraiser in St. Louis by the RFT! Wall Ball is a unique silent auction featuring the live creative process of 35 top local artists. Throughout the evening’s festivities, these artists create custom artwork, which patrons compete for while enjoying a dazzling party. Volunteers will be assigned to pre-event set up (no heavy lifting), registration, and serving. Those who sign up for pre-event set up will receive a free ticket to attend the event that night. Those who work the event are welcome to stay and play when their shift is done. Join Fuel for a HOLIDAY WINE AND FOOD PARTY! Soulard Market is opening their doors for us as Fuel joins forces with wine club for our annual festive holiday wine and food party (in the indoor center section of the market).

Join us for wine, food, music, and holiday cheer!

At 10pm. we will move the party to the Market Grill, located on Lafayette, directly across the street from the Soulard Market. *21 & over only!!
