Who We Are
Fuel is a social volunteer group geared at supporting the City of St. Louis by providing volunteers to
community and neighborhood groups to assist with one day projects and events. Most of our members
consist of "young professionals" (age 23-42). However, we welcome anyone over the age of 21.
Benefits of Membership
Fuel is one of the fastest growing volunteer/networking groups in the region. In addition to the self satisfaction you receive from giving back to your community, we offer a variety of excellent social and networking
opportunities. Members and their friends are invited to attend all Fuel events including monthly happy hours, parties, special events, music concerts, winery excursions, sporting events, and the list goes on. Many of our events are offered for free or at a discount.
Our monthly membership meeting/happy hour is an informal gathering and is always held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at various City locations and includes free appetizers. At our meetings, we discuss volunteer project opportunities, listen to guest speakers and enjoy the company of our members.
Membership is open and we do not discriminate based on race, gender, or location of residence. Because many of the Fuel volunteer and social events involve alcohol, we do require a minimum membership age of 21.
Cost of Membership/Volunteering
Membership is free. We simply ask that you volunteer at least 3 times a year (one fundraiser for us and two community projects), and we ask that you represent us in a professional manner and comply with our
volunteer guidelines. Once you are enrolled on our e-mail list, you will receive a monthly list of volunteer
options and you choose which ones you want to work. Just e-mail us to sign up to volunteer and include your preferred shift (volunteer@fuelforthecity.org). We will follow up with a confirmation and get you the rest of the info you will need.
Volunteer options include 1-2 day projects and fundraising events. Members commit to 2-4 hour shifts at elected events. Some of the events we have worked include:

Once you provide us with your e-mail and contact information, you are a member for 3 years and will receive a monthly e-mail version of our newsletter. The newsletter will keep you up to date about all Fuel social and volunteer happenings. You are only removed from our list if you are inactive for three years or if you request to be removed.
